Dekleva Vineyard

Southwest of the town of Oliver, this vineyard contains some of the oldest Chardonnay plantings in Canada. Located beneath Mt. Kobau and the Thompson Plateau, these vines are approaching 50 years of age. Of unknown origin, the vines are an extraordinarily distinctive Chardonnay clone named Dekleva in honour of the family who planted this vineyard.

The wine begins with aromas of guava and Asian pear, leading to flavours of stone fruits and a finish that refuses to quit.

2022 was particularly long, with substantial late fall ripening, spawning enticing aromas of guava, Asian pear, and floral notes. On the palate, the wine presents pear, green tea, ginger, creamy textures, a hint of honey, dried herbs, and desert scrub for added complexity.
