A complex, lifted nose, showcasing sassafras, licorice, spices, deep red fruits and vanilla. The palate is rich, with savoury notes, good weight, firm tannins and immense length.

"In 2017 the aromas are vibrant, offering up whiffs of sassafras and root beer mixed with savoury desert scrub and sagebrush running throughout the palate. The palate is slightly bigger in 2017 with denser, richer tannins that will take this wine further down the ageing road."

"This is pretty much along the lines of the other Merlots, but there does seem to be a little thumb on the scale here when it comes to fruitiness. It seems just a little more concentrated in perception. That's relative, to be sure. It adds fine supporting tannins and velvety texture to go with the fruit."
